Serbian state-owned textile firm Yumco opened a new factory on January 29 in the western Bosnian town of Drvar, said the government of the Serb Republic, one of the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Serbian government has invested $551,000 in the Bosnian plant, which employs 80 workers, the Serb Republic government said in a statement.

The plant was inaugurated by Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic and the Serb Republic's prime minister Radovan Viskovic, according to a business news and market intelligence company dedicated to southeast Europe.

The investment was agreed during a visit by Vucic to Drvar in September. The municipality of Drvar is populated predominantly by Bosnian Serbs.

The Federation and the Serb Republic are the two autonomous parts that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In 2018, Yumco opened two new factories in Serbia—one for personal protective equipment in the eastern town of Resavica and another one making uniforms for the Serbian army and police in the southern town of Bujanovac.
